Get That Look
Styled for Her by Me from Poshmark Closets.
Inspiration: Gilmore Girls
At the end of Season 2, Sookie and Jackson tie the knot at the Independence Inn with a beautiful outdoor ceremony. Rory and Lorelai are bridesmaids, they are wear cute turquoise dresses and carry a bouquet of purple flowers down the aisle. Sookie is stunning in a cream colored gown with a long sleeve, full length, lace, beaded cardigan, and of course a veil. Jackson, on the other hand, wore a kilt and was less than happy to fulfill his family’s tradition of doing so.
Being that this show revolves around Rory and Lorelai, A LOT happened for both of them at the wedding. Chris and Lorelai had just gotten together when he gets a call that Cheri is pregnant and quickly ends things and leaves before the wedding starts. And for Rory… Oh, yes, Rory! Someone arrived back in town after being kicked out by Luke following the car accident that landed Rory in a cast for a few weeks. Yep, Jess is back and Rory waits only seconds to make it clear she is glad he is back…
Don’t forget, she is accompanied at the wedding by her boyfriend, Dean. While morally I don’t agree with Rory’s actions here, this scene definitely took all the focus away from Sookie’s big day (at least as the viewer) as no one knows about this amazing kiss besides Rory and Jess. Okay, okay! I will move onto today’s Get That Look! This look was inspired by Sookie and her beautiful wedding gown! For this look, I have put together a bridal look, a less formal look, and a Chef Sookie look.
The Bridal Look:
-Original cost $650+ (original price not available for the veil or heels)
-Poshmark $575 for the entire look!
I couldn’t believe I found a wedding gown with a lace, beaded jacket that looked so similar to Sookie’s but I did! From the closet @willowtreesmile, this beautiful David’s Bridal gown is available in a size 14. To go with this gown I chose this veil that features a headband like Sookie’s just with more lace! Available from the closet @atomicnumber29. And lastly the shoes are Liz Claiborne ivory peep toe heels and are available from the closet @thehappyrack in a size 7.
The Semi-Formal Look:
-Original cost $658
The dress for this look is a J. Crew simple and elegant knee length cream dress from the closet @frufrufrocks. Available in a size 12. The super cute floral lace cardigan is from the closet @bhg7. And again, lastly the shoes! These GORGEOUS Kate Spade heels are from the closet @dishop and are available in a size 7.5.
The Chef Look:
-Original cost $245+
I decided I have to include a Get That Look for Chef Sookie in this post because well, why not? Sookie is the best chef around Stars Hollow and is so passionate about her work that even on her wedding night she was touching up the details on her wedding cake… in her wedding gown!
For Sookie’s chef look I had to include a handkerchief as she usually is wearing one on her head. I chose this J. Crew navy blue handkerchief from the closet @rosemud. Now for her chef coat I chose this bright pink one from the closet @michaela88fisk. Available in a size S. And to go with her blue hankerchief I chose size 6, J. Crew navy pants from the closet @mysavvyboutique and these blue Easy Street work shoes available in a size 6.5 from the closet @creativethrifts.
I hope you liked these three looks inspired by the wonderful Mrs. Jackson Belleville. Let me know what you think in the comments!
