Get That Look
Styled for Her by Me from Poshmark Closets.
Inspiration: Gilmore Girls
“No, just taking a little time off.”
My last Get That Look: Gilmore Girls post with ended with Rory stealing a yacht with Logan and doing community service. Rory also dropped out of Yale and stopped speaking to Lorelai after the Yacht incident. Who is this Rory? Not the Rory that we know and love, and not the girl Jess knew years ago. In season 6 episode 8, Jess surprises Rory by showing up at her grandmother’s where she is staying. He excitedly shares the novel he has written with her. She informs him that she is taking time off from Yale which clearly shocks Jess. The next night they head out to dinner and are interrupted by Logan pulling up in his Porsche. Logan immediately turns green and becomes quite a… prick. This clearly irks both Rory and Jess and ends with Jess leaving dinner and then yelling at Rory. Yep, you read that right. Jess yells at Rory.
His words end up getting through to Rory and she starts questioning all of her recent decisions. Later in this season, this leads Rory to move out of her grandmothers, reconcile with Lorelai, and start attending classes at Yale again. Way to go Jess!
Today’s Get That Look is inspired by Rory’s outfit during this scene with Jess. She is wearing a brown tweed blazer with green and pink stripes, a brown lace camisole, brown trousers, and simple brown shoes.
I couldn’t believe it when I came across this Elie Tahari tweed jacket from the closet
I chose these East 5th brown trousers from the closet @dkshoegrl71 and are available in a size 4 long.
And lastly, for Rory’s shoes I chose these Rockport wedge heels from the closet @nadbird. Available in a size 7.

Let’s fast forward to the season finale of season 6. At this point we all know who is not getting married on June 3rd, Lorelai and Luke, but why? Well, Luke is dragging his feet and using the excuse of needing even more time to adjust to having his daughter, April, in his life. Lorelai finally has had it in this episode and gives Luke an ultimatum, marry her right now or end things. She doesn’t want to wait anymore. Luke is less than happy that Lorelai leaves it up to him, he hates ultimatums.
He exclaims that he can’t just jump into this, a marriage with Lorelai, so she walks away… straight to Christopher *eye roll*.
In this intense scene between Luke and Lorelai, Lorelai is wearing a simple blue, flowy v-neck dress, a navy blue cardigan, and gold heels.
Like Lorelai’s dress this Alice + Olivia dress is flowy and has a similar neckline to hers. It is available from the closet @poshthrifter in a size 6.
To be worn over this beautiful dress I have chosen this navy cardigan from the closet @dthames5. Available in a size LP, perfect to wrap up in while walking away from Luke.
In this scene Lorelai is also wearing a simple set of gold diamond earrings like this pair of Kate Spade studs from the closet @yankrebel.
She paired the earrings with a gold station necklace that is nearly identical to this necklace from the closet @mware86.
And lastly, the shoes! These Anne Klein gold heels finish this look and are available in a size 9 from the closet @debstlouis.
