“Mom, mom, you’ve given me everything I need.”

A lot happened in season 7! Lorelai eloped… with Christopher… in Paris… without Rory knowing. Disappointed, angry, in disbelief: all things that describe Rory’s feelings when she finds out.

Lor’s and Christopher’s marriage is short after Christopher is convinced Lorelai still loves Luke and he isn’t wrong. In season 7 episode 20, Lorelai joins the town at Karaoke night and expresses how she will always love you Luke.

This becomes the talk of the town but it doesn’t stay on Rory’s mind for long because in episode 21, Logan surprises everyone (except Lorelai) by proposing to Rory at the Yale Graduation party her grandparents held.

She didn’t say yes, nor did she say no…. But eventually she has to give him an answer and does so right after her Yale graduation ceremony.

She asks for them to be in a long distance relationship and Logan responses that its all or nothing. Rory picks nothing.

All of this aside, it is so exciting that Rory has graduated from Yale! Her mom is beyond thrilled and of course her grandparents couldn’t be more proud of the Bulldog Alum. In episode 22, the town is excited for the upcoming reenactment of Rory’s Yale graduation when Rory gets a job as a reporter on Obama’s campaign trail! Super exciting, except the town is devastated that the reenactment has to be canceled and the party that was to follow was as well. That is until Luke pulls together a last minute, giant party all in honor of Lorelai Rory. He actually stays up all night sewing a giant tarp so that the party wouldn’t get rained out.

In honor of Luke and his love for Rory (and Lorelai), I am including a Get That Look for Luke’s classic look.

The very first part of his look is his signature blue backwards baseball cap, available from the closet @fae19. You can get a pair of gloves just like his from the closet @mmferric and don’t forget a green coat like this L.L. Bean coat available in a size S from the closet @kimmywhit with this scarf from the closet @alyssadconley.

And of course we need a plaid shirt, like this green and blue Passport button down from the closet @goodwill17, available in a size S. To be worn under the plaid shirt I like this Nike navy blue tee shirt from the closet @kapl71, also available in a size S. These Kut from the Kloth boyfriend jeans will work perfectly and are available in a size 4 from the closet @classyfashion. And lastly, these black Timberland shoes from the closet @milly1506 complete Luke’s look.

The complete look:

-Original cost $357+

-Poshmark $172

When it comes time to for the farewell party, both Lorelai and Rory are shocked to see everyone in town waiting to love on Rory and share her joy.

As if this event couldn’t be more special Richard shares beautiful words with Lorelai that brings them both to tears.

“I think this party is a testament to you, Lorelai, and the home you have created here… It takes a remarkable person to inspire all of this.”

After this heartfelt moment with her dad, Lorelai realizes that Luke did this for her just as much as she did for Rory. She thanks him and well…

Lorelai and Rory wake the next morning and head to Luke’s for one last cup of coffee before Rory leaves Stars Hollow to start her career as a reporter.

This is where the Gilmore Girls series ended in May of 2007. Thankfully Netflix picked up the reboot for this amazing show, Gilmore Girls: A Year in The Life. I look forward to creating Get That Look posts for the four seasons of the reboot, but for now my focus will turn to Holiday looks since tomorrow is the the first day of December.

I hope you liked today’s Get That Look: Gilmore Girls! Let me know what you think in the comments.
